Erussi Institute of Science and Technology (EIST) opened its doors in February 2025 with one clear purpose — to give young people, especially women, access to practical skills and nationally recognised qualifications. We serve North Western Uganda and neighbouring Congo, building futures one student at a time.

Empowering Women in the Local Community
Dr Sarah Akello highlights how the Erussi Institute of Science and Technology aims to significantly improve education and income opportunities for young women in the community. She emphasizes that the region of Uganda has a lower GDP, which often limits access to quality education and skilled employment. By providing practical training and education tailored to the needs of the local economy, the institute empowers young women to develop valuable skills that can enhance their earning potential. Additionally, Dr Akello notes that the institute will also welcome students from neighbouring Congo, fostering cross-border collaboration and providing these individuals with the tools they need to succeed. This initiative not only uplifts the local community but also contributes to greater economic growth and stability in the region.
